1)      AKANY TAFITA is an “inner city centre for children and youth”. Built in an extremely poor area of Madagascar’s capital city, 86 children come daily to this elementary school. Seven children have gone on to high-school and we are proud of one student who is in university. They are given a healthy noon meal and their medical needs are also cared for. As well as academic studies, several skill-oriented subjects are taught   ie sewing, baking, and embroidery work. A few boys go by bus to areas in the city for training in  metal work, carpentry or auto mechanics.
